Almost one week has past

Well, it has been almost one week since i last posted... how time flies... yet as I think back i can't seem to recall any significant events that worth to be noted done... everything was an endless cycle of work, ministry, people, sleep and back to work again. Hmm... I'm waiting for the weekend to come by as i write this... so, what's next?

Special Family in my life...

Hah.. it's so surprising that we have already started the worship CG for more than 2 months now and kinda miss my old CG members in KE2, UKM English care group. while it's very exciting and fun to be in the new CG, but again looking back at the group, I'm glad that many of them have came a long way and continue to be a great blessing to the church and many people as well.

Thank you for being part of my life (from left) : Nai Hwa, me, Eric, Kay Yong, Hui Chiat and Mun Keet (front). Missing is my CGL - Yong Jiun (MIA??? Hahaha.. of course not...) . Great to see you all still in church serving God faithfully and wishing Mun Keet a great and fruitful future in Singapore.

Another two of our close friends are Mui Jan (front left) and Woon Yen (front centre). Both of them are working in Singapore now and both of them were in UKM Mandarin and English CG before. Woon Yen was also our church keyboardist in the praise and worship team and a very accomplished musician as she can play the chinese orchestra instruments very well. Had a great time catching up with them when they come back to KL during the Hope Games and hope to keep in touch with them more. Wishing them all the best in their future undertakings and continue to grow in God.

Sunset in Sabah - October 2007 Trip

Was digging and looking through my old photos when I found some sunset shots which I took in Sabah. Here they are :

Watch out for fake RM100 bills ... How to tell the difference...

Adapted from The Star today - the full story here

1) The security thread on a real note is embedded in the bill and appears on the reverse side of the note as a silver dotted line. When the note is held up against light, it is seen as a continuous dark line and the repeated text 'BNMRM100' can be read. This feature is missing on the counterfeit note, where the 'security thread' appears as a silver dotted line.

2) No raised Braille feature on the counterfeit note.

3) The holographic design on the LEADA (Long-lasting Economical Anti-copy Device) strip represents the same motif as used in the purple patch as well as the text 'BNMRM100'. The colour of these elements change when the viewing angle is changed. The counterfeit note features just a silver thread with a floral pattern.

4) The portrait of the first King on the right of the real note is raised (Intaglio Print). This effect is missing on the fake note.

5) Watermark portrait of the first King is missing in the counterfeit note. The numeral 100 watermark at the base of the King's watermark is also missing.

How's ur body language when you are tensed?

Hmm... right now feeling a bit 'pekchek' becos suddenly got a lot of things to do and rush for in my work. New projects, tenders and existing projects suddenly give problems... wah, 'chiak beh liau' lah... too many things to do and I've noticed my body starting to show some signs of disagreement with my current workload...

First of all, my legs seems to be shaking non-stop : nope, not dancing to any steps or anything but just shaking - like when you are in deep thoughts or something. Secondly, I have an urge to just eat and eat and drink and drink. Just finished two bottles of water this morning and still feeling thirsty - want to drink some more. Seems to get hungry faster as well... eat a lot alrd but still feel very hungry.

Next, feeling like there's butterfly in the stomach - the feelings you have when you are nervouse. Like some knots and ropes are pulling and tugging at the insides of the stomach. Also, seems to be walking around here and there quite a bit... like every 15 minutes or so. Lastly, seems to lose my train of thoughts quite easily and tend to jump from one topic to another in my head and thinking.

Hehe, well, thank God that today is Friday and I've got sometime over the weekend to clear my system and continue the mad rush on Monday. Now now... where is my Coke?

How do you keep yourself awake?

A bit hard to get the engine started after four days of holiday ... was feeling sleepy after lunch today. Was fortunate that I was at the project site. So I have to move around carrying my laptop and walk quite a bit - helps to chase the sleepyness away. How do you keep yourself awake when you are sleepy?

For me, I would do a few things. Usually I will eat some stuff (usually asam or sweets) or drink water. Sometimes when I'm tired or stress i will go for drinks that has a kick - nope, not coffee or tea but Coke! If not, I will take a few minutes of walking around and talking to my friends and back to work again.

Maybe it's because of the weather also... hot and humid thats makes me so sleepy... haiya... now need to go and find another can of Coke...

Kittens in our house

I was going through my photo folders in my PC when I came across these photos. It was an incident how we found out a cat has given birth to 3 kittens in our living room.

It was sometime early year that we found out a cat had came into our house via the open window in our living room. At first we didn't think much of it and chase that fella out. But to our amazement the same cat came in again in the next few days and we chase that cat out again and again. The funny thing is that the cat - even though out of the house - didn't ran very far away. It just sit outside the house near our gate and keep staring at the house, at our direction. A bit strange but didn't thought much of it.

We only found out about the kittens when we were doing some house cleaning. Then only we realized why the cat kept coming into the house - it was looking for its kittens. We found the kitten in a 3-tier book rack, right at the top section - behind some cards and some objects. Actually this rack was well hidden because it was placed underneath the staircase to the second floor of our house. It was sort like our mini-store room - no wonder the cat find it a nice and convenient place to give birth.

After finding the kittens, we put them into a box and put them outside the house. After a few days, the mother cat and its kittens was gone - guess to a safer place. Nowadays, I see some grown up kittens are moving around our house area, same colour - looking at them reminds me are these the possible kittens that was born in our house? Everytime looking at them, they would just stare back at me - as if they recognised me... Hmmm....

Hot Hot Saturday Night

Well.. Saturday Night fever it ain't and has been so for the past few weeks every night. Yup., I'm talking about the current hot and dry season and every night my room feels like a sauna.

Have tried many ways to cool down - take baths at night (which I hardly do), drinks cold drinks before I sleep (helps a little) and sleeping with singlets on instead of normally wearing T-shirts. Have tried everything but stopped short of buying and installing an air-condition - of course.

Hopefully can sleep well tonight as will have a long day ahead for tomorrow - Sunday to go to church. But on the other hand, thank God that Monday is a holiday ...hahaha... yahoo!!!

It's a Bird, It's a plane... It's a Flying man!

Cool! Finally real life flying man with a jet-pack behind his back and able to do some spin and stunts as well. Well ... what should we call him! Superman? Jetman? Flying man? Rocketman? Looks like they settle on Fusion Man for now...

Up to border of Malaysia and back...in one day

Wow, just reach my house at around 1130pm after leaving early this morning at 615am. The purpose was a day trip to UUM in Changllon, near Bukit Kayu Hitam - border of Malaysia and back again.

First time I've ever went there, and to come back again in the same day. More amazing, I salute my manager who drove to and fro by himself - roughly about 12 hours of driving in one day! Wow and double wow...

As for me... hehehe... I was sleeping on the way most of the time... hehehe... paiseh...

Human Statue of Liberty ... Cool!

Facing the Crossroads? ... Look to the cross

Well, here it is again - a part of your life when you come to a crossroad. Recently there's been a few events that has been happening in my lives and requires me to make some major decisions soon. These decisions will affect people around me and how I live my life since 4 years ago.

I'm feeling excited, nervous and unsure at the same time. I didn't had these type of feelings ever since a few important parts in my life :

  1. Choosing which school to go to to study Form 1 after my primary school.
  2. Choosing which university to go after my Form 6.
  3. Choosing where to work after I graduated.
  4. Choosing my life partner.
  5. Choosing where to settle down and start my future family.
Some of you must be wondering... well, what the heck are you talking about? I won't release much details yet as of now but as I'm facing the crossroads soon, I need to look to the cross for assurance and guidance.

Time to pray and seek God for confirmation for the next step... when the right time comes, I will reveal more... stay tuned for part 2.

Hiroshima... Then and Now...

Hope Games Part 2... (continued...)

Hehe... I guess this has become old news by now but the fact the Hope Serdang is the champion of Hope Games for this year... hah! and hah! again :p... we have the bragging rights to declare for another year...

Well, the day started innocently enough with a good weather but some slight technical problem with the PA system caused us to start half an hour late. Well, the usherers were there early and the decorations was nice enough for us to be in the mood for... errr... what else... Hope Games lah!

The other members were busy setting up stalls next to the grandstand to sell their DIY recipes and foodstuff. Well, all of these selling was of course for good causes especially for church finance and building pledge. There was many exciting and creative food on display and although the prices was a tad too expensive, all was willing to give more towards building the kingdom of God and His church.

Now, the final preparation begins ... and the Games is about to start! This event also gave us the opportunity to test run some of the new wireless microphone systems that we recently purchased.

The Games started and there was marching teams and flag bearers by every team. We were joined by the 3rd KL Boys Brigade Company.

After that, there was a warm-up aerobics session led by Hope KLCC and then the various games began... Below are photos of Hope Serdang's most fervent and faithful supporters. Of course they have to support us ... or else.... ! :)

The events goes on until the afternoon where we had the athletics and special events for all the church coordinators and their partners.

Final game is tug-of-war... or should I say wait-for-tug-of-war game... cos it seems to take some time for the event to finish. All the supporters and players on the fields seems to be wanting to take a nice sun tan... and boy, I think they got more than a tan... BBQued is more like it!

Finally when all was over... came the prize giving ceremony and of course, the announcement that Hope Serdang was the overall Games champion.

Last item of the day was a special item - duet by Samuel and Sin Ying singing the Olympic Beijing 2008 theme song (I think...) Forever Friends...

Well, again overall it was a tiring and exciting event for all of us. But it was a good training and exposure for many of the committee members and chairperson as this is their first time involving in organising and running this event.

Congratulations and well done to all the committee and helper! and congratulations to all the participants for playing nicely and adhering to the Hope family spirit. Looking forward to next year's Games...

We are the champions!

Hah... surprise surprise... Hope Serdang is the center champion for Hope Games 2008. It was very surprising considering many regulars was not playing and most of the members are involved in organizing and helping in the games. Thank God many of the younger ones managed to rise up to the challenge and brought back some surprising results. As usual the athletics brought in many of the points and medals. It was a fun time and many firsts - the Boys Brigade from 3rd KL Company gave us an awesome and interesting march past and performance.

More photos to come...
